Abstract

"art" piece on the current exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art, "Charles Frederick Kimball, 1831-1903: Painting Portland's Legacy," which shows through Dec. 7. Kimball, along with fellow landscape artist John Bradley Hudson Jr., traveled around Casco Bay and Portland painting "en plein air." Kimball was also dedicated to maintaining the local art scene and he played a major role in founding the Portland Art Society (now the Portland Museum of Art) in 1882.
