Abstract

"this just in" piece on Endless Energy Corporation and Maine Interfaith Power and Light, which are partnering to offer renewable energy credits (RECs), representing the power produced by a turbine called FirstWind of Maine. The turbine, located in Orland, was the first commercial turbine in the state. As of now, Interfaith buys 100 percent of the power produced at FirstWind, and when you buy RECs, you ensure that the electricity powering your home comes from renewable sources. The more Maine consumers buy RECs, the less electricity will be generated using oil or coal.
