Set in 1966, the book focuses on a small group of Yale students as they wrestle with their obligation to their country and their future. The group gathers at a summer house in midcoast Maine to see one of their own off to Vietnam. John Kerry, Joe Lieberman, John Ashcroft and George W. Bush were all at Yale during the narrator's years there. Jeffrey Lewis, a part-time Maine resident, reads at Books Etc. in Portland, Nov. 20.
