Abstract

"this just in" piece reporting that on Dec. 1, the Student Senate at the University of Southern Maine marked World AIDS Day by issuing a resolution admonishing the American Red Cross for continuing what some consider to be the discriminatory practice of banning men who have had sex with men later than 1977 from donating blood. Andrew Bossie, the student senate vice chair, notes that statistics show that gay males are no longer the sole primary group contracting HIV/AIDS.
