"politics and other mistakes" piece on teen suicide in Maine, disputing claims made by the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram that teen suicides have reached crisis proportions. The newspaper also claimed the Maine Youth Suicide Prevention Program was ineffective. Political consultant Dennis Bailey questioned the Press Herald's statistics, noting that the annual "Kids Count" report published by Maine Children's Alliance showed teen suicide in Maine has declined significantly in the last decade and a half.
