Abstract

"This Just In" piece reporting that the Center for Cultural Exchange in Portland will likely put its Congress Street building up for sale. Founders Phyllis O'Neill and Bau Graves moved to Virginia in December, and the organization now faces financial pressures and a competitive funding market. Jay Young, board president, says he expects the board will keep the Center based on the Portland peninsula, should the building be put up for sale. The Center is also looking at restructuring its internal administration and perhaps suspending or ending some offerings, including the annual Festival of Cultural Exchange.
