"This Just In" piece reporting that live music will not resume at the State Thea
"This Just In" piece reporting that live music will not resume at the State Theatre in Portland for at least six weeks, until a number of fire code violations are fixed. In 2005, the State Theatre was cited for 52 code violations by the State Fire Marshal's Office. The State Theatre closed March 1 when Grant Wilson, the building owner, evicted Chris Morgan, the manager of the theater. Wilson and Morgan each claim the fire code violations were the responsibility of the other. Wilson says he'll wait until he finds a new tenant for the theater before beginning construction on needed fire escapes. Details.
