Abstract

Article retracing the steps of Mohammed Atta in Portland on September 10, 2001. Atta, the purported ringleader of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, spent the night at the Comfort Inn in South Portland, ate at Pizza Hut, and withdrew money from two ATM machines in the area. The following morning, Atta and Abdul Aziz al Omari checked out of the hotel and drove to the Portland Jetport where they boarded a plane for Boston, the first leg of their journey.
