Abstract

"This Just In" piece on this year's Chili and Chowder Challenge, mentioning award winners including the Atrium at the Cedars in Portland, the Schooner Retirement Community of Auburn, Federal Jack's of Kennebunkport, Thatcher's of South Portland and Pedro O'Hara's of Brunswick. Nursing homes took five out of the 12 awards. Attempts to sample the winning chowders and chilis at the Cedars and the Schooner Retirement Community were unsuccessful, leaving one to wonder if the winning recipes are ever actually served to residents.
