Article on the landfill in Bath, with a focus on odor and possible health problems caused by hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide has been causing problems in landfills across the state in the last few years, according to Mark Hyland of the state's Bureau of Remediation and Waste Management. Dr. Andy Smith, state toxicologist, said monitoring of the Bath landfill shows levels above acute health guidelines. With comments by Mary Pinkham, a neighbor of the Bath landfill.
