"This Just In" piece reporting that Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) appears to have had a change of heart and is poised to be the lead Republican senator backing the Military Readiness Enhancement Act, which would reverse the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that requires gays in the armed forces to hide their personal lives. Meanwhile, Collins' opponent in her 2008 re-election, Rep. Tom Allen (D-Maine), claims that Collins is just playing politics. Allen was an original co-sponsor of legislation to lift the ban and has been a consistent supporter of equality.
