"This Just In" piece reporting that the Peace and Justice Center of Southern Maine will close in December, after 10 years as an incubator for fledgling socially-minded nonprofit groups. The center is closing after Equality Maine moved into a larger space last summer, leaving a sizable hole in the center's tenant revenue. Sally Breen, founding member and coordinator of the center, says another reason for the closing is mission related - member organizations have been so busy with their own projects that they never actually fulfilled the center's primary goal of combing forces to host larger-scale peace - and justice - related events.
