"Cover Story" piece on a legislative bill sponsored by Rep. David Madore, R-Augusta, that would improve end-of-life care in Maine by reversing Maine's negative stance on hospice care. The proposal grew out of the defeat of Question 1, a statewide referendum that would have given Mainers the right to physician-assisted suicide. With special focus on Joe Mayo, Clerk Emeritus of the Maine House of Representatives and a former state representative from Thomaston (1983-92), who is dying of Lou Gehrig's Disease.
