"this just in" piece on Jonathan Reisman, an associate professor of economics and public policy at the University of Maine at Machias, who has filed an official complaint with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) taking issue with the PUCs Uniform Information Disclosure Label, which is periodically mailed to all electric customers in the state. Reisman asserts that the label is wrong in claiming that carbon dioxide is a major contributor to global warming and is a pollutant, and he believes the label could be more descriptive by identifying carbon dioxide-free power sources such as nuclear and hydro, and could explain that some fossil fuels produce more carbon dioxide that others.
