Abstract

"Threads" piece on The Cashmere Cabin in Windham, where owner Jodie Richards sells fiber, yarn, and baby goats. Richards sends her goats' undercoats to Michigan where the fiber is spun into yarn. The luscious cashmere fibers sell for $36 an ounce. One goat yields only four one-ounce skeins of yarn once a year.
