The top 100 Maine businesses, listed in terms of total gross revenues. The top 10 include Fairchild Semiconductor of South Portland, L.L. Bean of Freeport, Interface Fabric of Guilford, IDEXX Laboratories of Westbrook, Maine Medical Center of Portland, Acadia Insurance Co. of Westbrook, Cianbro Co. of Pittsfield, Maine General Health of Augusta, and Pine State Beverage of Augusta. Other companies, like Bath Iron Works, have great influence in Maine, but are not Maine companies. With commentary on several of the businesses.
