Abstract

"Threads" piece on Melinda Titus, 51, of Portland, who "reluctantly" learned knitting at age eight from her grandmother and now creates knit fashions as well as acrylic paintings in her studio on Custom House Wharf in Portland. Her fashions will be showcased at Velvet, an upcoming community event that raises scholarship money for adventure-based youth development through Rippleffect.
