Abstract

"Inside story" piece on a house on Chebeague Island's Roses Point, owned by Kenyon College President Emeritus Philip Jordan and his wife, poet Sheila Gray Jordan. The Jordans' beach is in the Chebeague Island Trust to ensure public access. The house, designed by Carol Wilson, is made to seem as though it had been lowered onto the land, minimally disturbing the site.
