Abstract

"Inside Story" piece on a steel house made of recycled shipping containers overlooking Blue Hill Bay. Architect Adam Kalkin and owners Matthew and Anne Adriance used 12 shipping containers arranged under a prefabricated roof to form the 4,000-square-foot contemporary getaway. Kalkin has formulated a standardized kit for creating 2,000-square-foot "Quik Houses" of shipping containers.
