Abstract

Architects Machado and Silvetti of Boston designed the underground addition to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, next to the original McKim, Mead and White building. The new addition, opening October 14, is more suited to show modern and contemporary art, provides 63 percent more space, and increases the number of galleries to 14.
