Abstract

Although long overshadowed by the popularity of Maine lobster, there are three species of crayfish that are native to Maine: the Spinycheek, the Appalachian Brook, and the Virile. In addition, four species of non-native crayfish can now be found in Maine lakes: White River, Rusty, Red Swamp, and Obscure.
