Abstract

Amin Esmaielpour and his wife Yalda traveled from their home in Isfahan, Iran to study in the United States. After starting out at Arizona State, where Yalda was accepted as a student, the couple moved to Portland where both are now students at the University of Southern Maine. Amin is taking part in USM's Stonecoast MFA and American and New England Studies programs and Yalda is continuing her graduate studies in literacy education.
