Abstract

People who lived in Portland in the 1980s tell stories of what they did in Portland during that time .Popular places to go to for entertainment, dancing, dining, and where people met up after work are included. Some popular locales mentioned include HuShang on Exchange Street, the Eastland Hotel, Squire Morgan, Moose Alley, Geno's, the Movies on Exchange Street, The Maxx, Back Street, Oasis, The Underground, Page 1, and Three Dollar Deweys. Some local bands are mentioned as well: Vito and the Groove Kings, The Clouds, and Buffalo Chip Tea; as well as musicians that came to Portland [Manny Verzosa, Stevie Nicks, George Hamm, Richard Julio (Geets Romo), and BeBe Buell].
