Rudolph Valentino and his wife visited Portland in 1923, and was slated to name the state's "Most Beautiful Girl." Portland resident Dorothy Appleby was selected. An account of the visit, how Ms. Appleby was selected, and what became of her and the Valentinos after that visit is featured. [images]
