"House of the Month" piece the Captain Russell Lewis House in Portland, a three-story Italianate mansion at 12 Deering Street designed in 1868 by noted Portland architect Francis H. Fassett for Captain Russell Lewis, a partner in the famous Lewis fleet of sailing ships that carried Maine lumber to South America and returned with salts and hides.
