Abstract

Article detailing how to start an art collection on a limited budget. Photographer Tanja Hollander recommends visiting studios of young artists, many of whom tend to be constantly broke. Bruce Brown, curator at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, suggests bartering services for works of art, or asking for a payment plan. Chris White of C. W. White Gallery, adds that most galleries in Maine show and offer works that sell for very modest prices.
