An article on women gun owners, which discusses a group of Kennebunk women called the "Pythian Sisterhood," who held weapon drills in the early 1900s; novelist Carolyn Chute, who heads a Maine militia group; Cathy Plaisted, 44, of Gorham, who is a Registered Maine Guide and a divinity student; and Kathy Ostrander's own experience target-practicing when she was nine.
