Abstract

"in tune" piece containing an interview with Spencer Albee, who has influenced Portland's music scene playing with Rustic Overtones, Rocktopus, and now As Fast As, a band that just signed a record deal with Octone Records. Albee is the booking agent for The Big Easy in Portland. He speaks of the music scene in Portland, the Rustic Overtones' failed deal with Arista Records, how changes in the music business have affected Maine, the local record labels and radio stations that support local bands, and how he cut a song with David Bowie.
