Abstract

Article on the Maine Solar System Model, the world's largest complete, three-dimensional scale replica of the solar system. Located between Presque Isle and Houlton along U.S. Route 1, the project was conceived by geology professor Kevin McCartney. The Sun is 50 feet in diameter, and is located at the Northern Maine Museum of Science at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. With locations and descriptions of the planets.
