Abstract

The Portland City Hall Auditorium Renovation Building Committee on Monday set the budget for the renovation project at $8.2 million, nearly $2 million more than the previous budget. The committee asked the city council to come up with another $1.5 million of public money for the project, and the council will probably ask voters to approve a bond issue next May. Taxpayers in 1990 authorized borrowing $3 million for the renovation. Details.
