University of Maine System chancellor J. Michael Orenduff has announced a plan under which the system will judge itself in a number of areas and publicize how well it does in order to improve accountability. The system will look at its ability to retain students; student satisfaction; diversity; outside funding of research and scholarship; and expenditure per student. Details.
