Abstract

University of Maine System chancellor J. Michael Orenduff has proposed having the university system place up to 20 certified language teachers in Maine elementary schools to teach foreign languages. The university would pay the teachers' salaries, and hopes to eventually save money by decreasing the number of beginning language courses it offers. Details.
