Kim-Marie Dean Smith, 34, of South Portland, an AIDS educator and nurse, died Saturday of complications from AIDS. Students and staff at Mahoney Middle School, where Smith's son is an eighth-grader, are wearing red AIDS ribbons in her memory and have started a collection to bring some Christmas cheer to her family.
