Abstract

The possibility that the U.S. Congress will enact legislation banning the sale of assault weapons is resulting in an increase in their sale in Maine, typically at a higher cost than last year. Some weapons named specifically in the proposed anti-crime package are being purchased by individuals before their buying privileges are curtailed.
