Abstract

John Green, 37, of Arundel, who has worked in the fishing industry all his adult life, has designed an environmentally-friendly urchin drag. The new drag weighs only a few hundred pounds and has been used to harvest up to 5,000 pounds of urchins a day. Green has sold the drags from Nantucket to Canada, and has had inquiries from fishermen, government regulators and university researchers from up and down the West Coast. Details.
