U.S. bankruptcy courts in Maine reported a 16 percent decline in bankruptcy filings between 1992, when there were 2,198 filings, and 1993, which saw 1,842 filings. The 1993 figure is still more than twice the level of 1987, when 868 filings were recorded. Details.
