The US Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration recently asked the Maine State Planning Office for heating oil price data to be used at congressional hearings scheduled for last week -- Heating oil prices in Maine have risen 172 percent since December, to a statewide average price of $0918 per gallon -- The price increase and fuel inventories that are currently 36 percent below normal levels have prompted the DOE to monitor price fluctuations -- Details
