Abstract

The Legislature's Energy and Natural Resources Committee has voted unanimously to lift Maine's four-year ban on juice boxes, the only such ban in the country -- The committee was split on whether to impose a fee on juice-box manufacturers who fail to recycle fixed quantities of the boxes, a situation which could ultimately foil efforts to reintroduce the boxes -- The state estimates 160 tons of the boxes would be used by Mainers annually if the containers are reintroduced -- Details
