Abstract

The number of Mainers seeking seats in the state House and Senate this year has declined to 420, from the 431 candidates in the 1992 race. Fifty legislators are leaving the House this year, up from 33 in 1992, with 13 vacating their Senate seats, the same number as two years ago.
