Lauretta Gregoire, 40, of Portland, fought off a rapist 18 years ago, and immediately decided to learn Hapkido, a martial arts technique. Gregoire is now the senior-ranking female in the American Hapkido Association, and has taught martial arts and self-defense to thousands of women in Maine and elsewhere. Details, related article.
