Abstract

Brief article reporting that the State of Maine, the 533-foot training ship of the Maine Maritime Academy, leaves Castine today to participate in the 50th anniversary D-Day commemoration. The ship will travel along the East Coast to meet with the SS Jeremiah O'Brien, a Liberty ship built in South Portland, before the two cruise across the Atlantic and join a massive fleet off Normandy.
