Abstract

Bath Iron Works on Friday received a formal request from the U.S. Navy that it be allowed to extend the bidding process on three DDG-51 destroyer contracts until June 15. This is the third time the Navy has delayed awarding the contracts on the Aegis-equipped destroyers. BIW has a $2.1 billion backlog and 11 of the destroyers under contract through 1998. Details.
