Abstract

Members of the Portland stage hands union contend that Maine workers stand to lose $100,000 this summer to out-of-state help hired for concerts at The Ball Park in Old Orchard Beach. Don Law, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based concert promoter, has confirmed that he will be hire his own workers from throughout New England rather using the Portland stage union. The union losses could be even higher if Law succeeds in bringing concerts to Scarborough Downs.
