Abstract

Bath Iron Works has won a contract to design and manufacture fuel and lubrication systems for gas turbines built by General Electric. Company officials hope the work will help propel the shipbuilder in to other commercial ventures. The work is similar to work BIW did for GE in 1986 and is comparable to work BIW hopes to do for Mitsui of Japan, which builds diesel-operated barges for foreign sale. Details.
