Abstract

Nicholas B. DeMatos, 14, of Freeport, died yesterday in Paris, France, after falling from the fifth floor of the hotel in which he and 16 other Freeport eighth-graders and four chaperones were staying. DeMatos might have been walking in his sleep when he fell from the window. The group, many of whom belonged to the Freeport Middle School's French Club, arrived in Paris on Wednesday for a weeklong stay in the city. Details.
