Abstract

President Clinton might be planning a Labor Day visit to Maine, where he would spend the day touring Bath Iron Works, where a new labor contract sets the stage for a complete restructuring of the company and make sweeping changes in jobs at the yard. If time permits, Clinton may also attend a Labor Day picnic in Augusta, hosted by former governor Joseph E. Brennan, the Democratic candidate for governor.
