Abstract

The five-member Committee to Study Organizational and Tax Issues in Public Schools yesterday met for the first time, and must deliver their recommendations to the governor and the Legislature by January 15. The group is at least the fifth since 1987 to consider the fairness of school funding in Maine, and has agreed to meet weekly until the deadline.
