Abstract

Police say that Audra Linkletter, 17, of Athens, the driver of the 1987 Ford Tempo involved in the fatal accident in Madison on Wednesday, ran the stop sign on Route 43 before turning on to U.S. Route 201. Linkletter and four other Madison High School students died when their vehicle was hit broadside by a Maine Department of Transportation dump truck. Classes at the school were cancelled yesterday, but many students showed up to comfort one another and talk to counselors. Details.
