Abstract

The Maine Emergency Management Agency said the state was hit by an earthquake swarm yesterday, with the epicenter around seven miles south of Springfield. The largest quake measured 3.7 on the Richter scale, and the four largest quakes occurred between 12:22 and 3:44 A.M. They were followed by four smaller quakes that measured less than 3 on the Richter scale.
