Abstract

The University of Maine at Orono received $24.6 million in outside funding in fiscal 1994, a 20 percent increase over the previous year. The increase from $20.5 million the previous marked the ninth year in a row that outside funding increased. Among the 386 awards during 1994 was a $3.6 million National Science Foundation grant, a $4.1 million grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and a $3.4 million grant from the federal Department of Agricualture.
